question about MySQL connection collation 2008/05/08 12:22
I converted my database to UTF-8, now the languages are disaplayed correctly.
I noticed that in tables structure window the final row below show collation utf8_unicode_ci , whereas all tables collation is utf8_general_ci.
In PHPMyAdmin shown:

MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
MySQL connection collation: utf8_unicode_ci

Should I set the MySQL connection collation to utf8_general_ci? (since all tables are utf8_general_ci). If yes, how to accomplish this? I tried change this value in PHPMyAdmin, but PHPMyAdmin just disabled partially.
